New business for Corsham's Leafield Industrial Estate

HPH Commercial Property has welcomed new businesses to two units on Corsham’s Leafield Industrial Estate as companies look to emerge strongly from lockdown.

In a welcome boost for the town, Medical Wire and Equipment Company and Glentham Life Sciences have both taken 20,000 sq ft units as they expand their existing operations, due in part to both companies’ involvement in supplying products to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

The units at the Leafield Industrial Estate will allow both businesses the room they need to grow in order to cope with the increasing current and future demand.

Medical Wire and Equipment Company are involved in the production of swabs for Covid-19 testing kits and Glentham Life Sciences are a global supplier of high quality chemicals and materials for research and testing.

Managing Director of HPH Commercial Property, Lindsay Holdoway, said he was encouraged to see continued strength in the north Wiltshire industrial market as the country’s economy starts to feel the full effects of lthe Covid-19 pandemic. The key to both transactions was speed of delivery during lockdown with Medical Wire choosing to take a new lease while Glentham Life Sciences opted to acquire the freehold of their unit.

He said, “Both Medical Wire and Equipment Company and Glentham Life Sciences are successful, well established businesses in their own right and it is encouraging to see them both taking positive steps in order to expand their capabilities and offering further employment.

“We hope that the positive statement of intent from these two businesses will help give confidence for others in the area.”

“I would like to thank the team at Carter Jonas, particularly Alison Williams, for their help in completing this deal.”

MP for Chippenham, Michelle Donelan said: “This is excellent news for the local community at a time when future employment is a big concern to many. It is a testament to all those working in these businesses that they have adapted and innovated in order to not only survive the coronavirus, but to continue growing and expanding employment opportunities for local people. I want to thank all those who made this expansion possible and will be on hand to support all businesses who need my help.”

Leafield Industrial Estate is a popular choice for many successful organisations due to its location close to the M4, diverse local workforce and nearby amenities.
