Digital signage experts move into Chippenham’s ‘tech hub’ at Bewley House
Stratacache, a global leader in digital signage, is moving into Chippenham’s Bewley House, joining other international tech companies such as Siemens – further cementing the location’s status as an emerging West Country tech hub.
‘I am thrilled to establish our UK support team at Bewley House in Chippenham,’ says Arran Davis, Director of Support Service UK & Ireland at Stratacache. ‘With our plans for rapid expansion, I am confident this location provides the ideal environment to achieve our growth ambitions.’
This is another milestone for Chippenham as it builds its reputation as an important UK centre for digital innovation. Bewley House, conveniently located just 100 metres from the railway station in the town centre, now hosts six prestigious digital technology businesses. These include transport technology specialists TEG and international logistics software providers Descartes.
‘We’re seeing two trends converge at Bewley House,’ says Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of Bath-based property company HPH, which owns and operates the building. ‘The return-to-office trend is gaining momentum as more businesses recognise the value of face-to-face interactions for company culture and creativity. And then there’s the remarkable emergence of Chippenham as a key tech location on the M4 corridor.’
Siemens recently announced plans to invest £100 million in a new manufacturing centre to replace its existing rail signalling factory in Chippenham. The facility will continue designing and building railway signalling and control systems, such as those used on London’s Elizabeth Line, while employing nearly 1,000 staff.
Stratacache’s arrival is more good news for jobs in Wiltshire. Operating in over 100 countries, the company offers a range of signage technologies, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, digital signs, mobile sensors, and computer vision systems. Stratacache has signed a five-year lease for the second-floor suite of Bewley House, at 2,700 sq. ft, and the building is now fully let. HPH was advised by leasing agents Alder King and Huw Thomas Commercial.
‘It is extremely positive that Bewley House returns to its fully let status,’ says James Gregory, Partner at Alder King. ‘We have been able to accommodate the occupiers’ needs and move parties around the building to suit their individual requirements. It is always pleasing to maintain a continued relationship with companies who like the building and what it has to offer.’
